No matter what age you are or even your level of employment or economic position, it may be a good idea to start preparing now, even in a meager way, for eventual financial security. Some people feel they need every dollar they make to get by from one paycheck to the next. While this may be true for some, there are others who squander significant sums on insignificant things. They could be socking that money away into an investment account that, over time, could lead to huge savings and a comfortable retirement.

It isnt hard to get started. All you need is $100 to $500 to open an account, and anywhere from $25 to $50 monthly to continue building your stock or mutual fund portfolio. In fact, a young person aged 20 could deposit $2,000 and then not another dime. In forty years he or she might have tens of thousands of dollars. The stock market has followed fairly predictable patterns since its inception in the 1800s in New York City. Although historic events like the Great Depression and several global wars have impacted its activity, the gains and losses remain fairly consistent, with most investors earning a predictable return on their investment.

Of course, no one can predict what the future holds, or whether the pattern will continue. And none of us should invest more money than we can afford to losejust in case the world economy crashes one of these days. But with steady deposits that continue to compound and earn interest over time, a sensible and prudent investor can substantially increase the amount of money going for retirement or a dream vacation at some future point.

If you are thinking about opening an investment account, do a little online browsing for more information. Visit sites like E-trade or Scotts Trades to see how the process works. Start reading your newspapers financial pages for details about the latest stock prices and market trends. Do a little paper trading by following the daily stock news. Instead of actually purchasing stock, however, work it out on a piece of paper by pretending to buy a certain amount of stock for the specified price and then watching to see how it performs over the following week. Chart your gains or losses to figure out whether your stock deal was successful. If you do this for several months, you will soon learn to understand more about the stock market and how to buy and sell like the pros.

Even if your budget is tight, try to set aside a little money to open an investment account from any windfalls that come your way from job bonuses, inheritances, or cash gifts. Some people set aside their annual job raise, or part of it, as part of their investment strategy. Then, as your budget becomes looser with paid-off bills or grown-up kids, you may be able to start having a standard monthly amount deducted automatically from your paycheck and deposited into your investment account. This could take the form of a Roth IRA (individual retirement account), a money market fund, a mutual fund portfolio, or individual stock shares.

It probably is a good idea to take an investment class at the community college or sign up for a financial planning seminar. Success may be just a few years away if you start now and plan right.

You have been longing for the day that you no longer have to rush for the bus or step on that gas, head for the office as fast as you can in order not to be late.

All of these will come true by the time you reach your retirement age. It is a point in your life wherein work is no longer attractive yet income remains the top most necessity. If the day comes that you will no longer have to work, the biggest dilemma will be on what will happen next?

A retirement plan is a requirement if you are to take pleasure and benefit from the moment after you have decided to retire.

Most often than not, people are not concerned about retirement plans. They simply pass the time and believe that retirement will eventually take place, with or without retirement plan.

What they failed to realize is that creating a retirement plan is the next most important thing any working individual should work with. What lies ahead is never too clear for people who do not have solid retirement plans.

What Is Retirement Plan?

Retirement plans are, forms of agreement that cater to give people with a considerable amount of money by the time they have reached their retirement age. These amounts are enough to compensate their continuous struggle for existence even if they are no longer working or earning the kind of income they used to make before.

In most cases, retirement plans are established by government, employers, trade unions, or some financial institutions such as insurance companies.

In essence, there are only two major types of retirement plans defined contribution and defined benefit. These plans are classified according to how the remunerations are resolved.

Defined contribution refers to retirement plans that will give disbursements based on the amount of contributions that the benefactor has paid.

On the other hand, defined benefit refers to a particular type of retirement plan wherein the disbursements are based on the flat rate as computed from the employees membership years and the amount of his income while employed.

Considering these facts, not all retirement plans are deemed equal. Hence, it is best to analyze your status and determine what type of retirement plan will work best for you. You need to consider some factors to help you with your decision.

1. Reflect on the advantages and benefits

Retirement plans were especially designed to give you the benefits that you need by the time you reach your retirement age.

However, not all benefits are the same. What may seem beneficial for the others may not necessarily work for you.

Therefore, consider the type of benefits that you need and consider them upon evaluating a particular retirement plan.

2. Know the law

Be sure that the retirement plan that you will take is inconformity with the present law on retirement. This will guarantee your safety in the future.

3. Read the fine print

Reading the fine print is important in analyzing the reliability of a particular retirement plan. Every benefit and rule should be explained in details through the catalog.

If you think that the conditions are too good to be true, then, they probably are. Hence, try to consider other choices.

Familiarize yourself with retirement plans before making a decision. This will help you create a dependable future ahead.

Forex (Foreign Currency Exchange Market) has been used by international banks and large investment companies for years to make millions of dollars. However, with easy access to the Internet, it is now possible for anyone to take advantage of this powerful tool and make money the same way large institutions do, even with minimal startup funds at hand.

Even experienced investors seem mystified by Forex and have very little understanding of it. Forex is not much different from the Stock Market, often the same or similar techniques can be used to trade currency as is used to trade stocks and commodities. What make Forex so mysterious is the lack of available information and opportunities of training.

I have listed 10 good reasons why I prefer Forex to the Stock Market or any other investment option and why any individual, or small investor, should look at getting involved with Forex:

1. A 24 hour market. You don’t have to worry about running out of time because the Forex is open 24 hours a day, nearly all week.

2. Huge liquidity. Have you ever got stuck trying to get rid of some stocks or options? With Forex, there are always buyers, thousands of them!

3. No commission on your trading. This is specially important for individuals with small amount of money to invest. When using other investment vehicles the cost of the investment is often prohibitive no matter how attractive the investment itself is. Brokerage and other government fees can easily eat up your profit even before you completed a transaction. With Forex, there are no brokerage, government etc fees involved.

4. Low transaction costs. Typically less than 0.1%!

5. No middleman. The investor is dealing directly with the Market.

6. Instantaneous transactions. Forex is fully computerised and transaction can be completed in as little 2 seconds. The investor does not have to wait for trade confirmation to arrive by email, worst yet, by post. All ‘paper-work’ is in electronic format, easily viewed, search, analysed.

7. Huge leverage yet low margin. Both increase your profit. In most cases leverage of 10:1 to 100:1 is the rule not the exception.

8. Minimal startup requirements. Again very important for individual or small investors. With Forex it is possible to start trading with as little as $300.00 dollars!

9. Easy access to the Market and your accounts, online, 24/7. Since Forex is completely computerised, anyone with Internet access can trade online and easily access their account and trading history. Most trading platforms allow the user to export this information to other third party software for storage, graphing, analysis etc.

10. No insider trading. Because of the way Forex is ‘de-centralised’, it is almost impossible for anyone to fraud the system.

I could go on for ever about Forex, it is an amazing tool for investors and also a very exciting opportunity for individuals. I hope you’ll catch the fever, too.

Wishing you success,
Ference

The forex market involves the trading of currencies and is the largest financial market in the world with an estimated daily turnover of $1.5 trillon dollars. This is 30 times larger than all the US stock markets combined. The forex market is open 24 hours a day 5 days a week.

Historically, the FX market was available mainly to major banks, multi-national corporations, and other wealthy participants who traded in large transaction sizes. Now, however, with the advent of the Internet and new technology, forex trading is becoming an increasingly popular investment alternative for the general public.

More and more investors are moving away from the traditional markets and turning to forex trading for many reasons.:

Earn a full time income from a part-time effort starting with as little as $300 in your account. Begin with a demo account until you feel comfortable opening a live account

Lower margin requirements for trading forex, usually about 1% which equal $1000 for a $100,000 contract. Compare this to the 50% margin requirements in the stock market.

No commissionwhen you trade stocks or commodities you have to pay brokerage fees.
For a forex trader, the spread is the only cost needed to cover.

Limited risk and guaranteed stops- when you trade stocks and commodities, your risk can be unlimited. With the forex market, stops are filled more easily- it is impossible to lose more than the amount of money in the forex account.

Because of the forex markets liquidity and 24 hour continuous trading, dangerous trading gaps and limit moves are eliminated. Orders are executed quickly without slippage.

Because the market is so huge, there is no possibility of someone controlling the market price, unlike the stock market which can involve insider trading.

Trading currencies is much simpler than stocks. There are only a few major currency pairs unlike thousands of stocks to analyze.

There are great opportunities in the forex market to make profits both when the prices go up or down.

Do you want to achieve financial freedom working from anywhere in the world with simply a computer and an Internet connection? Start to trade Forex today!!!!!

The typical scenario is that you get your paycheck. After you recover from the shock at how little is left after taxes, you proceed to divvy it up among all your outstanding bills, intending to put whatever is left over into your savings.

But there never seems to be anything left over and your savings dont grow.

A better plan would be to pay yourself first. Dont let the money get into your hands.
You might find that you actually begin to grow your savings much quicker this way.

If you work for an employer with a 401K plan, the first thing you should do is to fund it to the max. If you cant afford that, at least put enough in to get the full matching contribution form your employer.

This investment is made before taxes. Your investment is larger and with the employers contribution grows quickly.

Next have a brokerage or mutual fund company debit your banking account monthly. This money should first go into an IRA if you have five years or more to go to retirement, make it a Roth IRA.

Next have a few dollars more be debited to go into a no-load, low cost mutual fund. The younger you are, the more aggressive your choice of fund can be.

After that is done, then figure out how to pay your bills and living expenses. If money is tight, cut back on your living expenses and use the extra money to pay down your debt.

Start with the lowest balance first. Once that debt is paid, take the amount of money you were paying on that debt and add it to the payment on the next lowest balance debt. Continue doing this and you can be totally debt free within 5 to 7 years.

Another version of this method is paying the highest interest rate debt first. The principal is the same, you just see more progress with the first method, although it could be more costly based on how your debt is distributed.

(If you dont believe me, get the premier version of Microsoft Money or Quicken and use the Debt Reduction module. You will be shocked at how much money you will save and how fast you can eliminate debt this way.)

The idea is to scrimp at the expense of your current lifestyle, while leaving your savings to grow and you debt to shrink.

I know many of the people reading this will scream that this is an impossible plan.
But it is quite doable with a little will power and the ability to delay gratification for a while.

The problem is that if you dont do this, your future might turn out to be very bleak.

Wishing you success,
Ference

These days, you cant retire without using the returns from investments. You cant count on your social security checks to cover your expenses when you retire. Its barely enough for people who are receiving it now to have food, shelter and utilities. That doesnt account for any care you may need or in the even that you need to take advantage of such funds much earlier in life. It is important to have your own financial plan. There are many kinds of investments you can make that will make your life much easier down the road.

The following are brief descriptions for beginning investors to familiarize themselves with different kinds of investment options:

401K Plans

The easiest and most popular kind of investment is a 401K plan. This is due to the fact that most jobs offer this savings program where the money can be automatically deducted from your payroll check and you never realize it is missing.

Life Insurance

Life Insurance policies are another kind of investment that is fairly popular. It is a way to ensure income for your family when you die. It allows you a sense of security and provides a valuable tax deduction.

Stocks

Stocks are a unique kind of investment because they allow you to take partial ownership in a company. Because of this, the returns are potentially bigger and they have a history of being a wise way to invest your money.

Bonds

A bond is basically a promise note from the government or a private company. You agree to give them a set amount of money as a loan and they keep it for a set number of years with a predetermined amount of interest. This is typically a safe bet and one that is a good investment for a first time investor because there is little risk of losing your money.

Mutual Funds

Mutual funds are a kind of investment that are based on the gains and losses of a shareholder. Basically one person manages the money of several or many investors and invests in a list of various stocks to lessen the effect of any losses that may occur.

Money Market Funds

A good short-term investment is a Money Market Fund. With this kind of investment you can earn interest as an independent shareholder.

Annuities

If you are interested in tax-deferred income, then annuities may be the right kind of investment for you. This is an agreement between you and the insurer. It works to produce income for you and protect your earning potential.

Brokered Certificates of Deposit (CDs)

CDs are a kind of investment where you deposit money for a set amount of time. The good thing about CDs is that you can take the money out at any time without paying a penalty fee. We all know life isnt predictable, so this is a nice feature to have in your option.

Real Estate

Real Estate is a tangible kind of investment. It includes your land and anything permanently attached to your piece of property. This may include your home, rental properties, your company or empty pieces of land. Real estate is typically a smart and can make you a lot of money over time

Everybody is trying to get more money, keep more of the money they have, and, at the very least, pile a little up for retirement. But lower income, middle income, and upper income groups have a different approach to multiply their money. Casino patrons visit in order to quickly turn a tiny amount of money into a large amount of money. People from every economic level visit casinos, for most people it is short-lived entertainment. When it comes to getting more serious about an ongoing way to make a little money into a lot of money, most people do their gambling in three other arenas.

You want the big money right now, so why wait? Buy a lottery ticket today and find out the result tonight. This is the first gambling arena that people frequent to try to end their money troubles. People earning under $100,000 are 2.5 times more likely to frequently buy lottery tickets as people that earn more than $100,000. No big surprise here, middle to low income earners find lottery tickets a cheap and easy way to hit big money on the way home from work. This is not a form of gambling that I would recommend as your chances of winning have been equated to being struck by lightning 25 times.

Only half of the American population has ever tried their hand at the next gambling arena: the stock market or mutual funds. You might have a retirement account with a couple mutual funds, or you could be trading in and out of stocks every few days. But this is where middle income earners go to gamble and try to get rich. The average stock portfolio is a whopping $34,300. Any stockbroker will tell you that if you are lucky and have 50 years, you may be able to own a portfolio worth a million dollars. When there is a sharp increase in the stock market, the amateurs rush in and try to make it a profession; but get financially hurt in the end. In the late 1990s it was day-trading. I personally know successful short-term traders, but 97% of them quit after losing most/all of their trading account in a short amount of time. This is not a gambling arena that Id recommend to build your wealth: whether short-term or long-term stock investing. (The high income earners have an extra flavor of this type of investment called a hedge fund, but these funds offer a few spectacular gains but more frequent financial implosions.)

People in the high income bracket have two gambling arenas that they employ to get richer: real estate and private placement memorandums. The beauty of investment real estate is that it can lower your taxes by taking a deduction for depreciation. This feature is not available to lottery tickets, slot machines, or mutual funds. In this gambling arena, there is land development, residential rentals, apartments, and commercial property of various types. The high income earners buy properties with a high monthly income, reduce their taxes with its depreciation, and hope for a large rise in the property value over time. But as I said before, when there is a price run-up, the amateurs rush in and ultimately get financially hurt. In 2002-2005, the rage caught on in preconstruction condominiums (the cheapest way to get into real estate). The term flipping condos became prevalent and masses of beginning investors have lost a lot of money because they werent educated about real estate investing. But professionals in the industry continue to earn money because they buy based upon monthly income, and speculative gains are just the extra icing for the investment. The second casino that high income earners use is PPMs (private placement memorandums). These are investments that are illegal for people earning under $200,000, or have a net worth under $1 million. (The government only wants sophisticated investors who can afford to lose their money entering these unregulated investments.) These investments are normally created by small business owners that need more money to expand, so they are offering part of the ownership of their company with a higher than average rate of return. Conservative real estate offer the best odds of success for any of the gambling arenas; and then when you have built up enough money, you can begin with some conservative PPMs.

Where do you want to focus your getting richer effort? There is no risk free path to follow, but maybe this will help you decide: What is the probability that you will successfully pick the winning lottery numbers today? The joke youll hear is that losing money on lottery tickets is a tax on the mathematically challenged. What is the probability that youll buy the stock of a runaway company before the professionals run the price up? What is the probability that you can find a valuable real estate transaction? It is my opinion that educating yourself about real estate offers the best chance for sharply increasing your financial fortune.

[There is one more popular gambling arena available to people with internet/computer/technical skills, and that is joining a start-up company that is eventually taken public. The odds of success are only 7 times better than the lottery, about 1 in 6 million.]

Investment clubs are created by individuals who not only want to pool their funds together to make a joint investment but would also like to gain knowledge on the various types of viable investment opportunities that are available in the market. Each member of the club contributes periodically an agreed amount of money to purchase growth stocks by means of a dollar cost averaging approach.

The dividends as well as the capital gains are usually reinvested to gain more interest. The security purchases are voted upon by the club members. This is also one way of decreasing personal risk of club members. There are also investment clubs that allows non-club investors to participate in larger investments of the club provided of course that the non-member investors receive a much lower share of commissions.

Likewise, it is also the role of investment clubs to assist their club members in becoming more knowledgeable in all aspects of investments. A well-known trade group for investments clubs is the National Association of Investors Corporation (NAIC) which is a non-profit organization that provides guidance as well as imparting investment knowledge as part of its membership.

A good choice of investment clubs are those that have been around for many decades already and have a track record of having a continuous increasing interest in the stock market. By joining investment clubs, small investors are given the opportunity to increase their buying power, share their collective knowledge and socialize while earning from their investment. Another good benefit derived from investment clubs is the fact that investors are not expected to invest a great deal of money but still will be able to receive a greater amount of interest that is usually possible if you have similarly invested a big lump money.

A typical investment club usually meets once a month and members are given individual responsibility of researching investments and then sharing their ideas with the other members of the club. Likewise, these meeting also served as an occasion for members to contribute to their monetary fund, which is intended for purchasing stocks, mutual funds as well as other types of feasible investments.

One of the main goals and objectives of an investment club is the opportunity to learn. Most investment clubs spent a great deal of effort and time in research since they believe that a well-researched investment plan has a much greater chance of success. This is also the reason why risk is minimized when joining an investment club.

Starting an investment club is not really that difficult and does not require any special knowledge. In fact, a group of friends or even co-workers can decide to set up an investment club. This is usually a good place to start as you will know the people you dealing with.
